How color matching works

Four steps from your color reference to finished product.

You send the color reference

Pantone code (e.g. PMS 186 C), HEX code, RGB values, brand style-guide PDF, or a physical swatch by post.

We produce a lab dip

Our dye lab produces a small woven or dyed swatch to match. Turnaround: 24–48 h for standard PMS.

Approval before production

We photograph the lab dip under D65 daylight and send you the image + physical sample by DHL if needed.

Locked for repeat orders

Approved color formulas are stored under your account. Every reorder pulls the same dye recipe — no drift.

Technical notes

What "matching a color" actually means in a textile factory.

Every material — polyester, nylon, silicone, PVC, TPU — takes dye differently. A Pantone chip is printed on coated paper; a woven lanyard is a bundle of dyed yarns. Even the same yarn dyed at different mills will look slightly different under different lighting.

We measure color match under D65 daylight (6500 K) using a spectrophotometer. Our tolerance is ΔE ≤ 2.0 — visually indistinguishable to the human eye.

PMS Solid Coated

Primary reference system. Send the code exactly as printed (e.g. "PMS 186 C", not "PMS 186").

PMS Uncoated (U)

Slightly different from C. If your brand uses U codes, tell us — we'll match to U instead.

HEX / RGB

Screen colors. We convert to CMYK/PMS equivalent. Some monitor colors can't be reproduced in dye; we'll flag if so.

Metallic / Neon

Available at 5–10% surcharge. Lead time +3 days for special dye batch.

Fluorescent (Neon)

Fades under UV in ~6 months of outdoor use. Not recommended for outdoor lanyards. Fine for indoor events.
